“A medical laboratory professional (also referred to as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Technologist) is a healthcare professional who performs chemical, hematological, immunologic, microscopic and microbiological diagnostic analysis on Clinical samples. Medical laboratory scientists work in clinical laboratories at hospitals, reference laboratories, biotechnology laboratories, and non-clinical industrial labs.” In the era of modern technology, clinical laboratories have evolved and adopted automation. Medical laboratory professionals play an essential part as the backbone of the diagnostic team. Diagnosis is a primary step for treatment for any disease. Medical Laboratory Science has played a significant role in the advancement in the field of Medicine, especially in the past few decades. The RCHS comes at a very appropriate time when there is a felt need for the expansion of the professional health care sector not only in the North East, but throughout the country as well. With the shortage of skilled health professionals in the region and the country, the students pursuing courses will have huge job opportunities.
